Rising singer-songwriter, Sandra Lynn, has established herself as “one of the most consistent powerhouse vocalists to emerge from the last decade (CMT).” Lynn’s releases reflect both her love for country music and her roots as a California girl. With “vocals that range from delicate to dynamo (Parade),” Lynn is currently crafting a musical chronicle about one couple’s struggle to save their relationship in the storytelling style of old country records. 

On her 2018 debut Billboard Country Album Fight, Lynn introduced the first chapter of the intriguing storyline through four songs, produced by GRAMMY®-winning engineer/producer Ben Fowler (Eric Clapton, Michael McDonald, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Sara Evans, Maddie and Tae). “The songs touch on the vulnerable and intimate details women like to share behind closed doors,” Lynn says of Fight. The project’s focus track, “Somebody Kissed Me At A Bar,” racked up over half a million streams after being featured on Spotify’s Wild Country playlist, while its official video earned over half a million YouTube views. 

Lynn is currently weaving the story’s second chapter with a new batch of songs. “Lose the War,” written by Nashville notables Emily Shackelton, Phil Barton, and Cameron Jaymes, and “Am I Just Dreaming,” co-written by Lynn and up-and-comers Joey Ebach and Ryland Fisher, lead the series of releases. Through “Lose the War,” Lynn “cuts to the heart of what it takes to make a relationship work (Parade)" while “Am I Just Dreaming focuses on the inner struggle of sorting out feelings after a relationship ends. 

Continuing to put "an insurmountable amount of care behind every musical decision she makes (CMT),” Lynn teamed up with GRAMMY®-nominated Producer/DJ Morgan Page ("The Longest Road") for a remix of “Lose the War.” The remix maintains the song’s narrative as Page explains, “It's just dressed in a different jacket with a faster tempo and more emphasis on a 4/4 beat. The lyrics were universal enough that they carry-over to a dance track." Page debuted the track on his SiriusXM show, "In The Air.” 

CMT and Parade.com world-premiered Lynn’s “Lose the War” music video, filmed in Los Angeles under the direction of husband/wife duo, Brandon Hess and Tara Tucker (Tucker/Hess Productions). Lynn starred in the video, which has garnered over 1.1 million views on YouTube. The "Lose the War (Morgan Page Remix)" video, which featured footage from the original video shoot, premiered on PasteMagazine.com and earned Lynn recognition as a NoiseTrade Emerging Artist. 

Lynn returned to her country roots with her latest release “I Think of You,” written by Nashville heavyweights Caitlyn Smith and Ruston Kelly. According to Lynn, "'I Think of You' is really a song about someone that is left alone to their own thoughts, haunted by the memories and emotions of a love that once was, replaying both the good and the bad as the past reveals itself in every moment of the mundane present." Lynn performed the song during her appearance on NASH-FM’s syndicated “The Ty Bentli Show.” 

To help express her vision both lyrically and sonically, Lynn once again enlisted Fowler to produce the new tracks. “Ben is able to capture a vulnerability in my voice, honing in on the raw and vocally defining moments and capitalizing on them,” she says. “He truly has a keen ear for finding those takes that carry the emotion just enough without getting lost in it, but also conveying the story of the song. You feel like you're standing right in front of the listener and singing in their ear.” 

Lynn’s latest singles are a welcome addition to the catalog of music she has released since launching herself as an independent artist in 2014, including “Afterparty,” “Bar Hoppin’” and “Hey California.” Lynn grew up in a rural part of Chino, Calif., in “a neighborhood full of horses, horseback trails, and ranch-style homes,” she says. “There was a dairy farm down the street from our house, next to my elementary school and church, and no shortage of cows everywhere.” 

The California native has a clear memory of the first time she heard one of her favorite country songs as a child. She and her mother were in the car driving through Chino when Deana Carter’s languid ballad “Strawberry Wine” came on the radio. “Whenever I hear it now, it reminds me of times during my childhood when everything was more simple. That’s what I love about country music. The best songs are so powerful that they actually can define moments in people’s lives.” 

Lynn began singing at 7-years-old, right before her family moved to Brea, Calif. in Orange County. She spent hours watching the country music TV networks, gravitating toward such artists as Trisha Yearwood and Dixie Chicks, as well as Shania Twain and Faith Hill. Throughout high school and while attending Pepperdine University, Lynn sparked an interest in the timeless storytelling of classic country artists like The Judds and Patsy Cline as well as singer-songwriters, Michelle Branch, Jewel, and Anna Nalick. “I had always written, whether it was journaling in a poetic way or coming up with my own lyrics,” she says, “but after college I put my focus on setting lyrics to melodies.”

Since then, Lynn has split her time between Los Angeles and Nashville where she has laid roots working with some of the hottest songwriters and hit-makers, including Rascal Flatts’ Jay DeMarcus (produced her self- titled debut EP), Dave Brainard (“Hey California,” debuted on Radio Disney Country), Ross Copperman (“Afterparty,” picked up by SiriusXM’s The Highway, and “Bar-Hoppin’,” added to Beach Body Fitness’ ‘Country Heat’ workout series), Jeremy Spillman (co-wrote her debut track “You Belong” with Lori McKenna and Travis Meadows), Hall of Famers Gary Burr and Tom Schuyler, Tia Sillers, Victoria Banks, Paul Brandt, Mike Mobley, Travis Meadows, Bonnie Baker, and Bobby Hamrick. 

Opening for country stars such as Brad Paisley, Kenny Chesney, Cole Swindell and Kenny Rogers as well as performing during CMA Fest and Milwaukee’s Summerfest, Lynn has made a name for herself on the live circuit. The singer-songwriter has also graced the stages and rounds of Nashville institutions, including the historic Ryman Auditorium and revered Bluebird Cafe along with 3rd and Lindsley, The Listening Room and Wildhorse Saloon. 

Lynn’s Ryman debut last year surrounded the release of her first Christmas song, “My Christmas Wish For You,” an original written by legends Richard Marx and Linda Thompson. Lynn performed the original holiday tune during the “Christmas 4 Kids Benefit” concert alongside such acts as Shenandoah, Mitchell Tenpenny and Halfway to Hazard. “It was a dream come true performing at the Ryman — a rite of passage for any country music artist to hit the stage of the Mother Church for country music,” she says.

As 2019 wraps and 2020 begins, Lynn will continue to unfold the liner story of the couple’s relationship in stages instead of all at once as she finds it important to mimic how the mind works after a break-up of a relationship that was deeply cared for. “You’re scattered. You’re missing the person. You’re mad at them and at yourself. You’re dissecting every good and bad thing that went on.” With her recent signing to WME’s roster, Lynn looks forward to taking this fresh material on the road and bringing hope and comfort through music.
